Shiro
Flour of roasted split peas or chick peas that is very nutritious. It’s flavoured with chef’s choice of Berberé, Nech Shinkurt (garlic), Abish, Zinjibil, Korerima and more. It’s usually made into a hot or mild wot (stew/sauce) and eaten with injera for many meals. It’s known as the poor man’s food as it is a cheap source of protein than meat, but it is loved by all especially during fasting seasons.
